Our creative intelligence is innate and universal. Everyone deserves the safety to play and create.
The US/West/Israel have been starving and hunting Children in Gaza for almost 2 years as of this writing.
No art as usual in an extermination.
Imperial powers have decided that weapons testing is ok on a civilian population that is more than 50 percent children.
Drones, quadcopters, AI-powered tech, and new bombs that shred bodies in a unique way are all being used on children in Gaza.
The imperial war machine, funded by US and its enablers, have been manufacturing starvation inside the world’s largest concentration camp for almost 2 years.
I’m a Jewish mother whose grandparents survived the Nazi holocaust. I have a moral responsibility to act for the safety of those surviving extermination.
Our children have rights to creativity and safety in Gaza and everywhere.
I painted the edges with symbols of the right of return and in an honor of Tatreez, Palestinian embroidery.
Proceeds if sold go to the Gazan-Led Community Support Fund (@gazanledcsf). — LB

Portraits of families in Gaza
2025-2023
Watercolor portraits depict families in Gaza with whom I chat directly.
My intention is to honor Palestinian families through portraiture, to help my friends survive extermination, and to re-humanize them.
Linked to each portrait is a survival fund that has been carefully vetted and verified by the global mutual aid collective of which I’m a part: Bees & Watermelons, or by Operation Olive Branch and Butterfly Effect Project. Click on a portrait to view their family’s survival fund. Consider giving regularly to a family fund.
I don’t take any proceeds or make any money from this project. I want to help survivors of extermination. -- LB
“Influence the influencers” — Shahid Bolsen
2024
Watercolor and acrylic ink portraits of influencers who continue to use their platforms to denounce oppression, extermination, and genocide.
They show care. They amplify Palestinian voices. They remind us our humanity is interwoven with our fellow humankind siblings everywhere.
Each portrait links to a verified family in Gaza, where everyone is still trapped, and are able to access survival funds through these vetted campaigns.

Drawings of Palestinian land, olive trees, and ancient natural beauty
2024-2023
The Al-Aqsa Flood in Oct 2023 was provoked by generations-long Israeli apartheid, colonialism, and occupation of Palestine.
The occupation is funded by US/Western Imperialists and war profiteers, who bankroll the Israeli government to continue to commit unconscionable catastrophic acts of extermination, genocide and ecocide in occupied Palestine. Settlers burn and cut down ancient olive trees to erase everything Indigenous and Native to Palestine.
