Laura Baran is the co-founder of Arts & Dreams, an organization whose mission is to expand hope and self-love through art.
Since 2009, Arts & Dreams has been fulfilling its purpose by providing empowering art workshops for hundreds of children, teens, and adults in New York City.
Laura was inspired to create Arts & Dreams after her brother Jeff Baran killed himself, attributing his suicide to his feelings of hopelessness.

Over a summer in New York City, a creative, sensitive girl named Rose changes the way she thinks about herself through making hopeful art.
Featuring Laura Baran’s hand-painted illustrations that reference photographs by Patricia Geremia, Rose’s Summer of Arts & Dreams is a heartwarming story with a powerful message of transformation. Recommended ages 7-12.
