My recent work celebrates meaning and self-discovery. I take photos with my phone of people and places that uplift me. I re-create moments and places with paint because it’s fun to convey the significance of an inspiring experience. I want to invoke what I appreciate – enthusiasm, freedom, beauty, and spiritual resonance.

Painting oil portraits of people who inspire me and self-portraits connects me to healing sparks of talent and excitement I’d like to see more of in my life, literally. I reference mediated images and mirrors in my representational depictions of cultural figures and myself, articulating emotions and characteristics I want to embody and honor.
